Microsoft has changed the interface or design of Skype for mobile and desktop. Skype features that users use less are being removed from Skype. To make Skype easier to use, the main features of this service are being given importance. Skype’s voice calls, video chatting and messaging are being brought about with special changes. This information has been reported in an IANS report.
Peter Schillman, director of the Skype and Outlook Design Department said in a blog post, “Last year I made a new feature by adding some changes to Skype. It was difficult to use many of the original features. So the design is going to change. The new design will remove unnecessary options from the mobile app interface. In addition, chats, calls, contacts, and notification options will be moved over the window.
Inspired by Snapchat last year, a feature called Highlights was added to Skype. But Skype did not get it popularity. Microsoft decided to remove this feature. This update will be available for all users by the end of this month.
Skilman said, ‘There was a problem calling the new design. Highlight did not seem logical to most users. We’re going to make things easier. Skype Lite and Dark Themes will come as a video and voice platform, which can be used by user preferences. He said that new features will be brought forward in calling, chat and contact.
Microsoft has also said to add end-to-end encryption to Skype personalized conversations.
